Travel Arrangements

DC's location makes it easy to get to fast. Three DC-area airports service 69 million passengers each year.

  • Airports: three DC-area airports — Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) — with approximately 1,000 direct daily flights make DC accessible to the world.
  • Train: Union Station in DC is home to Amtrak and multiple commuter rail services; 5 million Amtrak passengers travel through DC each year.
  • Ground Transportation: taxis are plentiful and easy-to-hail downtown and at the airports, and offer a convenient way to get around the city. Sample taxi fare between Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) to Walter E. Washington Convention Center is $19-25.
  • Shuttle Bus Service: Complimentary shuttle service is provided between McCormick Place and most DDW hotels.
