Attendee Guide: Step Three

Getting to Your Hotel

Transportation options between the airport and DDW hotels include local buses, taxis and a free DDW shuttle service. A shuttle map and schedule will be available in January.

The epicenter of health policy is also one of the most exciting American cities to visit. From monuments and memorials to acclaimed theaters and a flourishing dining scene, there’s no shortage of things to do during your time in the city. When you arrive in Washington, D.C., you’ll see why CNN recently named this city one of the top city destinations of the world.

Packing Tips

  • If you receive your DDW badge in the mail, be sure to bring it!
  • The convention center is large and you will be walking a lot. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day and reduce plastic waste.
  • Pack your purple! To kick off World IBD Day on Sunday, May 19, there will be a breakfast in the Exhibit Hall at 9:30 a.m. (supported by Lilly USA). Purple awareness ribbons will be distributed to the first 3,000 attendees.
  • We recommend dressing in layers, as some parts of the convention center may be different temperatures.
  • Your conference bag and lanyards can be picked up on-site.
