Whether you’re flying or driving into San Diego, transportation options are limitless.

  • Airports: Located just 10 minutes from downtown San Diego, San Diego International Airport is serviced by 22 major and commuter airlines. The airport terminals are easy to navigate, and offer food and drink from local restaurants.
  • Public Transportation: There are plenty of bus routes that offer service throughout San Diego. The San Diego Trolley is another fun way to travel in and around the city.
  • Ground Transportation: Taxis are abundant and easily accessible from the convention center, airport, major hotels and downtown locations. San Diego is also a ride-share friendly city for services like Uber and Lyft.
  • Car Rentals: Exploring San Diego by car is the most convenient way of getting around to all corners of the region. The Rental Car Center at San Diego International Airport is home to most rental car companies. Many rental car companies also provide pick-up services at many hotels.
For U.S. residents: please review the Real ID Act regarding boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft. Depending on your state of residence, you may need to provide a second form of identification at the airport. You must use a REAL ID or another acceptable form of ID to fly starting May 3, 2023.
