Bethesda, MD (March 1, 2017) — Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) is pleased to announce that our newly redesigned website, www.ddw.org, won an honorable mention award from AVA Digital, an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals.
DDW restructured the website to improve attendees’ experiences, by learning how attendees use the meeting website, and how it could better structured to meet their needs. As a result, several major changes were implemented:
- Mobile-First: In the past year alone, mobile traffic on org has grown more than 60 percent. The new site is completely mobile friendly which better allows attendees to access DDW on-the-go.
- New Sitemap: Exercises helped DDW learn how attendees expect to find content on the website grouped and labeled. Main navigation boasts six top headers — two more than the old website — and related subpages that fall into each category.
- Easier Navigation: When visitors scroll on any page, the top navigation bar follows, making it easier for attendees to navigate the DDW website, saving time in finding information.
- Streamlined Pages: New combined content, photos and videos create a seamless web experience.

Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) is the largest international gathering of physicians, researchers and academics in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery.
